Login Problems

Extension Not Found

Problem

Badge Box says "Extension not found" when trying to connect.

Solutions:

1. Make sure Alby or nos2x is installed
2. Check the extension is enabled (not paused)
3. Refresh the page
4. Try opening Badge Box in a new tab

Invalid nsec Format

Problem

"Invalid nsec format" error when logging in with private key.

Solutions:

1. Verify your key starts with nsec1
2. Remove any spaces before or after
3. Make sure you're using your private key, not public (npub)

Badge Creation Issues

Badge Not Publishing

Problem

Badge creation seems stuck or fails.

Solutions:

1. Check your internet connection
2. Wait a few seconds — relay communication can be slow
3. If using an extension, make sure you approved the signing request
4. Try again — some relays may be temporarily unavailable

Image Not Showing

Problem

Badge image appears broken or doesn't load.

Solutions:

1. Verify the image URL is publicly accessible
2. Try opening the URL directly in your browser
3. Use HTTPS URLs when possible
4. Host images on reliable services (GitHub, Imgur)

Award Issues

"Invalid pubkey" Error

Problem

Can't award badge — says public key is invalid.

Solutions:

1. Check the format:
   • npub should start with npub1
   • Hex should be exactly 64 characters
2. Remove any extra spaces or characters
3. Verify you copied the complete key

Inbox Issues

Badges Not Loading

Problem

Inbox appears empty or stuck loading.

Solutions:

1. Wait 10-15 seconds — relay queries can be slow
2. Refresh the page
3. Check your internet connection
4. If you just received a badge, give it a minute to propagate

Badge Stuck in Pending

Problem

Clicking Accept doesn't seem to work.

Solutions:

1. If using an extension, check for a popup asking to sign
2. Wait for relay confirmation
3. Refresh and check My Collection tab
4. Try accepting again
