Badge Box offers two ways to authenticate. Choose the one that works best for you.
Browser Extension
Recommended for most users. Your private key stays safely inside the extension.

How to Use
Install Extension
Add Alby or nos2x to your browser from their website or extension store.
Set Up Your Key
Create a new key in the extension or import your existing nsec.
Connect to Badge Box
Click Connect with Extension on the login page. Approve the request.
When Badge Box needs to sign something (like creating a badge), the extension handles it. Your private key never leaves the extension. This is the safest option.
Private Key
For users without a browser extension. Enter your nsec directly.
How to Use
Click Use Private Key
On the login page, select the private key option.
Enter Your nsec
Paste your private key. It starts with nsec1...
Click Login
Done! Your key is stored only for this session.
Your nsec is stored in your browser's session storage. It's automatically cleared when you close the browser. Never share your nsec with anyone.
Understanding Keys

Your public key is like your username — give it to anyone. Your private key is like your password — never share it.
