What is Badge Box?
Badge Box is a tool for creating and managing digital badges on the Nostr network. Your badges are stored on decentralized relays, not on any company's server.
The Problem with Traditional Badges
Most badge systems today store your credentials on a company's database. If that company shuts down, your badges disappear. You can't prove you earned them anywhere else.
How Badge Box is Different
Badge Box uses Nostr, an open protocol for decentralized communication. When you create or receive a badge:
- It's stored across multiple independent relays
- It's cryptographically signed (can't be forged)
- Anyone can verify it without asking permission
- It stays accessible even if Badge Box goes away
